Why we're a hive
In our hive, everyone has a role, every role has a purpose, and every purpose is a community effort for the betterment of the hive. That's how we run our rooms.
Everyone has a job
Children help set the table, water the plants, and lead the line. Small jobs teach big things: responsibility, pride, and belonging.
Small groups, steady faces
Each child has a main teacher, and teachers stay with their room for the whole year. Children do their best work with adults they know well.
Families stay in the loop
You get a short note and photos every day, and a real conversation at pickup. If something is going well or badly, you hear it from us first.
Parent quotes
“I am excited for the improvements in Belfair.”
“I love the investment being made for our kids.”
“I cannot wait for the opportunity to register my baby.”
Questions parents ask us
What ages do you care for?
Babies from 4 months old through age 5 in our preschool and daycare rooms, and children ages 5 to 13 in before and after school care.
How does getting to and from school work?
Tell us your child's school when you book a tour. We'll confirm how children get between school and the Lounge, and what your child needs to bring.
Do you open on school holidays and in summer?
Yes. School-age children can join full days on most school holidays and summer breaks when space allows. Sign up ahead so we can plan staffing.
Do you offer part-time care?
Yes. Preschool and daycare rooms offer full days (5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and half days. School-age care can be before school, after school, or both.
What time is the latest drop-off?
Morning drop-off closes at 9:00 a.m. If you need to arrive later, we can take your child until 10:00 a.m. with a pre-arranged appointment.
Do you ever close early?
Doors close at 6:00 p.m. every day except staff development days. We hold a staff development meeting every 6 weeks on Friday and close at 4:00 p.m. that day. See all closures.
What does tuition include?
Meals and snacks (breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, and a late snack for the little ones; breakfast before school and a snack after). Room supplies are covered by the annual $150 supplies fee you pay when you register for the year. Families bring diapers and wipes for babies and toddlers, two changes of clothes, a raincoat, and one pair of Crocs for indoor use.
What happens if my child is sick?
Children stay home with a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea until they've been symptom-free for 24 hours. If your child becomes unwell here, we call you right away.
How do we enroll?
Book a tour, complete the enrollment forms, and pay the $100 enrollment fee and $150 annual supplies fee. See the registration steps. We reply to tour requests within one business day.
